Wuza Zu is a dialectical textual research note written by Xie Zhaozhe in Ming Dynasty.The content of the book is extensive,covering the political,economic,cultural,social and other aspects of the Ming Dynasty.The book is also an important classic of the history of Chinese language,the history of Chinese nomenclature and the history of Chinese exegesis.Taking the animal and plant nouns and their explanations in Wuza Zu as the research object,this paper analyzes and discusses the classification of nouns,the structural characteristics of polyphonic words,the nomenclature rationale of nouns,the relations between name and entity,exegetics of nouns,the interpretation of new words and the investigation of dialect words and colloquial words.This paper is mainly composed of the following six parts:The Introduction mainly introduces Xie Zhaozhe's life,the version of Wuza Zu,the research status of nouns and Wuza Zu,the research significance of this paper,corpus overview and research methods.The first chapter summarizes the overall appearance of the animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu.Firstly,the definition of "name" and the judgment criteria of nouns are made clear,and the scope of word selection is limited from two aspects:the distinction between words and phrases,and the semantic criteria of nouns,so as to determine the research object of this paper.Secondly,classify and describe the animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu.Finally,the paper analyzes the structure of polyphonic words in the animal and plant nouns of Wuza Zu,and summarizes the characteristics of the polyphonic words.The second chapter studies the nomenclature of animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu.This paper mainly includes two contents:first,it discusses the nomenclature rationale of the animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu,and holds that it can be analyzed from the aspects of shape,pattern and color,time and space,attribute,function,sound,synthesis,and so on,so as to explore the cause of the name.The second is to explain the relationship between "name"and "entity",and analyze the animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu from two common naming phenomena of.synonym" and "homonym".The third chapter studies the exegetics terms and methods in Wuza Zu.There are five types of exegetics terms Xie Zhaozhe used to interpret the nouns:general name,alias,category,meaning and pronunciation.The exegetics methods can be divided into six types:interpreting dialects by common language,interpreting written language by spoken language,interpreting aliases by common names,setting definitions,describing images and comparing things.The fourth chapter studies the new words of animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu.Firstly,new words are judged and their nature is clarified.It is believed that new words include both the newly created words and the words that give new meanings to the old words.Secondly,the determination criteria of new words are determined,the scope of "new" is extended to the whole Ming Dynasty,and first appeared in the history of Chinese language is taken as the main judgment criterion,and the literature retrieval is carried out in combination with various databases to ensure the accuracy of the conclusion as much as possible.Finally,the meaning of 38 new words of animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu is studied.The fifth chapter is to explore the dialect words and colloquial words of animal and plant nouns in Wuza Zu.Firstly,it analyzes the concept of dialect words and colloquial words,explains their inseparable relationship,and defines them according to relevant theories.Secondly,from the perspective of writing marks,literature review,dictionaries and monographs,this paper clarifies the criteria for the determination of dialect words and colloquial words in this paper.Finally,some typical dialect words and colloquial words are selected from Wuza Zu.
