China's rise brings the wave of learning Chinese. Building of metropolitans attract a large number of foreigners who and whose children need to study Chinese. Many international schools have Chinese teaching courses and the international departments of some schools are recruiting foreign students to teach them Chinese. The mother language of those foreign students is not Chinese. Given the backdrop of western-style education, they are more active, less obedient and less hard-working than Chinese students, which bring new challenges to Chinese teaching.In recent years, language teaching academics has been stressing the priority of interest in the study, calling for an easy atmosphere for the students to study in, stressing that interest is the best incentive to study well so as to more efficiently acquire a language and the way to use it.This paper discusses how to make foreign students interested in Chinese and brings desired results.The paper is composed of five chapters.First chapter is the preface which introduces the situation and the problems of the current Chinese teaching to foreigners.Second chapter is the explanation of the theoretical base of this paper. Third chapter is the introduction of the definition, advantages and characteristics of the game teaching method. Focus is attached to explaining various games and how and when to use them in different classes.Fourth chapter is a series of experiments conducted in the High School Attached to Shanghai Normal University, International Division.Fifth chapter is the conclusion. This chapter concludes the significance of games in teaching Chinese.
