The spreading of Chinese language is an essential part of the promotion of Chinese culture.Therefore,Chinese teachers who teach Chinese as a foreign language will shoulder the historical mission.However,the current foreign students generally assume that Chinese is very difficult to learn,even with the advanced information technology,which is an unavoidable obstacle in the teaching process.Games,combined with animation,audio,image,text and other advantages,are always good choices for people to learn new knowledge.If students can learn Chinese language with the help of games,their interest will be greatly enhanced and their confidence will be set.Therefore teaching Chinese through games is a positive method in the field of international Chinese education,and it is the research project in this thesis.First of all,there is a general research on the current teaching situation and a retrieval of domestic and foreign literature in this field,and an analysis of the advantages of game teaching as well.Then the writer probed into how to combine Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and game teaching methodology together and further discussed the following issues,such as game design,the role of teacher,and the implementation of game teaching methodology.On the basis of the above-mentioned theory,a survey was conducted in an international culture exchange center in Xi'an by the ways of questionnaire and interviews.Additionally,based on the Flow Theory of teaching through games,the writer made a more specific research on phonetics teaching,the teaching of Chinese characters,vocabulary,and grammar,and most of all,the comprehensive language teaching and application.Finally through the comparison and contrast between the appraisal results and questionnaire results,the application of game teaching method in teaching Chinese as a foreign language was evaluated.In general,there is a great prospect and developing space for teaching Chinese as a foreign language through games.Game teaching method has a significant effect on the enhancement of students' interest,their better performance,and the improved comprehensive ability of students.Meanwhile,we still need to do more research on concrete measures to combine game teaching and Chinese language teaching.
