Study On The Coherence With Qin And Han Dynasties In Seal-cutting

Seals cut in Qin and Han dynasties achieved the first climax of seal-cutting as an art form, and has been learned by seal-makers from the ancient till present. Since Zhao Mengfu and Wu Qiuyan, in Yuan dynasty, advocated to be coherent with Qin and Han dynasties in seal-cutting, both the ideology and art characteristics of seal-makers'were influenced, and some of whom fostered personal style through innovation based on the coherence. The paper makes it a subject study on this very art phenomenon. First, files seals cut in Qin and Han dynasties, analyses their art characteristics, and studies on the ancient seal-makers' coherence with the past, both on theory and practice. Then theoretically analyses the recommendation of the coherence with Qin and Han dynasties in seal-cutting, background as well as theory coherence; and seal-cutting practice, the typical credit seal-makers' innovation, which signifies the step-by-step process covers the span to maturity. It is an important theme of the coherence and innovation of Chinese culture, therefore, the paper explores, at last, the artistic value of the coherence with Qin and Han dynasties in seal-cutting, furthermore, the development and innovation of traditional culture, and at last the innovation of traditional art forms.
