This paper mainly studies on structure of "X+Tou" in Contemporary ChineseLanguage and the related issues. The paper consists of a preface and the following 5chapters:Chapter I: It describes the scope of studies and related theoretic issues and reviewsbriefly the existing situation of the research in verb-complement structure.Chapter II: It divides the direction from contemporary view. Sentence structures arealso described and explained in the chapter.Chapter III: It reviews the structure of "X+Tou" in historic plane and analyzes itsderiving conditions and motivation.Chapter IV: Firstly, "Tou" was researched as the complement of result. Afterinvestigation, verbs and adjectives which can be followed by "Tou" of complement ofresult are also be found. The direction of the meaning of "Tou" as complement ofresult and situation as followed by object is analyzed. Secondly, the expansions of theform of "X+Tou" were researched. It can be discussed the emantic and syntacticfeatures of "X+De/Bu+Tou" as complement of possibility or the structure of"X+Ge+Tou" as complement of mood seperately.Chapter V :It introduces "Tou" in structure of "X+Tou" as complement of degree.After investigation, those verbs and adjectives which can be followed by "Tou" ofcomplement of degree are found. The author analyzes the direction of "Tou" ascomplement of degree and situation as followed by object.
