The vocabulary has an important position in teaching Chinese as a second language (TCSL). From language teaching perspective, the vocabulary is the vehicle of language and culture. The vocabulary acquisition is very important because of Chinese function words, word-formation and Chinese characters. It is related to successful second language acquisition.Nowadays the dilemma of Chinese vocabulary teaching development contains different elements. Students'vocabulary is limited and decentralized during the class teaching. Vocabulary strategies are paid less attention to. The main problem of vocabulary teaching is lack of context. TCSL needs enlarging its Chinese research scope and emphasizing on innovation to solve the problems of vocabulary teaching in TCSL.This thesis brings in the idea of "classified-vocabulary-teaching" mode in order to deal with the difficulties of vocabulary learning and explores an efficient mode of vocabulary teaching in the area of TCSL. This study also explains the theoretic foundation of the mode in linguistics, psychology and pedagogies and tries to construct the classified matrix according to the meaning, form, pronunciation and grammar of a word. Meanwhile, the mode established seven kinds of vocabulary aggregation, attempting to serving vocabulary teaching by the classified matrix.As a system, "classified-vocabulary-teaching" mode must focus on teaching process. This thesis uses different research methods, including class observing, vocabulary test, teaching experiment, questionnaire and so on. Through the practice of class teaching, the study discusses the specific methods on teaching process and strategies to prove the rationality and feasibility of it.The "classified-vocabulary-teaching" mode is a concept innovation of vocabulary teaching in TSCL. It's the first time to define this mode in concept, purpose, basic principle and theoretical framework. This mode has an inspiring significance for teaching Chinese as a second language and provides some material for future study.
