The purpose of this paper is to study the characteristics of mental health, coping style and quality of life as well as the relationship among them for bladder cancer patients in Changchun area. This paper can be divided into two parts, and the first part is literature review, which is the base of this paper, mainly analyzing the concepts of mental health, coping style and quality of life as well as introducing developed theories at home and abroad in this field, the other part consists of proposing problems and statistical analysis, in which author puts forwards the whole research idea and discusses the practical sense from a fully new perspective based on previous study results. This paper, which takes 120 patients in Changchun area as research subject, uses statistical software SPSS for Windows 17.0 to process data obtained through measure methods involving Symptom checklist 90 , Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire and WHO Quality of Life Scale-BREF, and apply statistical method such as descriptive statistics, independent sample T-test, variance analysis, correlation analysis and multiple linear stepwise regression to test multiple items assumption, achieving conclusions as follow:1. The total mental health and quality of life condition of bladder cancer patients after operation in Changchun area present low level, although some patients tend to choose confrontation to cope with this situation.2. There is an obvious difference in the mental health condition and quality of life among bladder cancer patients in Changchun area, with patients of higher literacy performing better than that of lower literacy, while the difference in coping styles is not evident.3. An obvious difference in the mental health condition and quality of life can be found among bladder cancer patients in Changchun area, with higher income patients performing better than that of lower ones, and the latter generally adopt avoidance coping style to deal with. Moreover, patients at their own expense are not only have lower psychological health level but also have a worse quality of life environment, and they are used to adopting subdued coping style to cope with.4. The patients generally choose avoidance, confrontation and subdued coping style to cope with the disease in early, middle and final periods respectively, with quality of life influenced by social relation factor in early period obviously higher than that of middle and final stage.5. Gender factor can not obviously affect mental health, coping styles and quality of life of bladder cancer patients.6. A linear relation exists among mental health, coping style and quality of life of bladder cancer patients after operation.This paper strive to seek methods to enhance mental health and quality of life of bladder cancer patients after operation from the special perspective of coping style, and pay attention to improve their cognition on disease, strengthen mental adaptability to obtain a better mental condition and quality of life by guiding bladder cancer patients to form scientific and suitable coping style.
