Western music education methods in China have existed for almost a century, and tha(?) largely promoted the development of music education in China. However this western sense of pitch as a standard unified sight-singing teaching does not allow students to work on other music systems to make an objective assessment and forms impediments to multi-cultural understandings Besides, that also ignores the individual differences of students and existing knowledge structure, which is contradictory to "individualized" principle. This article is based on Chinese folk songs a familiar to most normal people, and musical elements will be taken as the "entry point" of sight singing teaching, shifting from "known" to the "unknown", so as to improve the teaching efficiency.The whole paper is divided into three parts:Partâ… :The introduction of sight-singing teaching and its development in China the analysis of shortcomings of existing studies.Partâ…¡:An overview of folk songs and native language, which meet the native characteristics "natural acquisition, the first contact, the most familiar and common sources of features", with a "mother tongue" as conclusions and as well as an example of the important value of the elements of Chinese folk songs in sight-singing teaching.Partâ…¢:The specific application of folk songs elements in sight-singing teaching.
