Design of children playing is a kind of pattern which displays happiness and lucky in ancient normal life, which has appeared in large numbers of imperial and folk kiln in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It acted an important role in both Chinese culture and Art history. The thesis is mainly based on the first-hand unearthed objects about this pattern of folk kiln in Jingdezhen and the picture information which collected in museums. In addition, the paper makes full use of methods of History dating, the development of porcelain technique, the art style of era as well divide such pattern to four stages: early Ming and middle Ming period, later Ming and early Qing period, middle period, later Qing period. Now the author try her best to study those evolving characters from the development of porcelain technique, the painting content, the composition, the figure dynamic, the clothes and the assistant patterns, and find that there have no changes on sorts of pattern or the vessels, but the painting character experience the evolving from simple to complicated, and complicated to simple, then simple to complicated in turn. While the author also interest the reason on popularity of this pattern and make a conclusion on five areas: first, the conception of the more sons, the more blessing and the emphasizing of population of government influenced it directly. Second, the imperial kiln has so many rules to forbid the folk kiln imitation. The relation was limited and appreciated in each other. Third, the Lucky people's livelihood culture grew up increasingly. This phenomenon lasted from middle Ming to later Qing. With the expiation of content in lucky people's livelihood culture, the design of children at play changed as well. The most important of all, the Secular life of Ming and Qing period are the sources for children painting and the market just like magic power to help this pattern transmit. Therefore, the design of children at play of Ming and Qing in Jingdezhen folk kiln reflects information of the politic, social psychology, lucky people's livelihood culture and custom at that time.
