At present,the cultivation of music teachers is mainly undertaken by Normal Colleges, Conservatory of Music and Art College of University in China. The major name is usually set as Music Teacher Education or Musicology (Teacher Education). Through dozens of years exploration and development, the curriculum models are becoming to place emphasis on cultivate the music teaching competencies instead of being identified with specialized musical education models, Therefore, the construction of the musical pedagogy is becoming an important aspect of the reforms and settings for music education majors.This study object is musical pedagogy curriculum in universities and the method of investigations and case study are adopted in this research. The questionnaire was surveyed among the teachers of the musical pedagogy in 28 Normal Colleges, 8 Conservatory of Music and 16 Art College of Universities. The statistical analysis of the results and the interviews with teachers and students, show the general situation of musical pedagogy development in universities and the attitudes and demands of teachers and students. Case studies shows the different characters of the musical pedagogy, such as the practical characteristics in the Normal Colleges, the research characteristics in the Conservatory of Music and the multivariate characteristics in the Art College of University, respectively.Knowledge is an important factor that affects curriculum design greatly. Music teachers must have a special kind of knowledge, which is called music teaching practical knowledge. Musical pedagogy curriculum as a series crucial curriculum for music teacher training whose knowledge structure includes music theory knowledge and music practice knowledge, which have equal important function in music education teaching. Therefore, the curriculum provision which is based of music education"theoretical knowledge"and music education"practical knowledge"that keeps simultaneity with social requirement is the proposed musical pedagogy curriculum structure.
