Overseas Development Strategy And Tactics Of COSCO

With the continuous advance of the global economic integration, the transnational operation of enterprises has become an irresistible tide today. The transnational corporations are playing more and more important roles in world economy. To shipping enterprises, especially state-owned big shipping enterprises, how to adapt the development of domestic and foreign environment, and how to expand their transnational business for the enhancement of their competitive strength, are becoming more and more important issues.This article systematically elaborated the basis theory of enterprises' transnational operation, and thoroughly analyzed the characteristic and existing problem of overseas development of China Ocean Shipping Group(COSCO). Compared with the foreign advanced shipping group's overseas operation status, the article points out the COSCO's advantage and gap to foreign groups. Based on the above study, the article emphasized on analyzing and ascertaining the environmental factors which blocked the COSCO's overseas development. The article also established the module for analyzing environmental factors of COSCO's overseas development through AHP, realized the module by improved Experts' Opinion Method, and provided the procedure of calculation. This article, on the basis of further ascertainment of the key environmental factors confining COSCO's overseas development, brought up COSCO's overseas development strategy and corresponding tactical measures.
