On The Construction Of Network Morality

The development of network technology signifies a new stage of human civilization. We have entered a new era of global network. The wide-spread application of network technology has brought about many revolutionary changes in different aspects of our society. From the ethics point of view, the large-scale application of network technology has brought about both progressive effects and a series of new moral problems to the development of man's morality.Network morality refers to the communicative moral norms in the space of electronic information network. The construction of network morality stands for not only the education of network morals in the common sense but also the theoretical construction of network morals. Therefore, following "the purpose of reducing the negative effects of network technology to a minimum to bring greater benefit to mankind", to explore the construction of network morals in combination of network knowledge and moral principles is both the internal requirement of network technology development and the need of human morality for further development.With a main focus on the moral problems in the application of network technology, this paper concentrates on the discussion of moral construction in the space of network. It first elucidates the connotations of network morals and the construction of network morality, then analyses the four basic principles in network moral construction, last but not least generalizes the network moral norms and puts forward a series of reasonable suggestions and strategies for the construction of network morality based on the above mentioned conclusions.
