| Urban agglomeration can be defined as relatively integrated urban group in a certain area under certain geographical environment and conditions, it takes one or two super cities or big cities as the core city of the region, and the internal relations and affinities are developed among cities of different qualities, types and grades based on comprehensive transportation networks.The urban agglomeration of eastern Shandong province includes 28 cities. This paper has made a deeper analysis on the urban agglomeration. Five parts are included except for preface and conclusion.Part one gives the conception of urban agglomeration and reviews two important theory on urban agglomeration such as Central Place Theory and Fractal Theory and two different "four phase theory" in urban agglomeration's evolution that one is put forward by Friedman and the other by Chinese scholar. Also this part gives the standard to define urban agglomeration and its classification.Part two defines the urban agglomeration of eastern Shandong province, including its range and cities belong to it. The urban agglomeration's evolution is also mentioned in this part.Part three gives a deeper comprehensive analysis on the urban agglomeration of eastern Shandong province including its cities' spatial distribution, scale degree structure, and function structure. Through this analysis we can find the urban agglomeration of Shandong province's characteristics and problems. Also this part analyses the degree difference and function difference of all the cities in the urban agglomeration.Part four gives several improving measures such as improving the spatial distribution, changing the cities' scale degree structure, choosing important center city etc as to solve the problems mentioned in part three. Several regional supplementary measures are also advised.Part five disserts several problems as water resource problem, land resource problem, environmental problem that exist in the urban agglomeration of Shandong province's sustaining development. |
