As an integral part of control system in management, incentive mechanism is of great significance to the sustainable development of the enterprise. To an enterprise, the mechanism is composed of external incentive mechanism, the supervision and incentive from the individuals outside the enterprise (mainly refer to investors and creditors), and internal incentive mechanism, an important means to stimulate all levels of employees to compete against each other within the enterprise. The latter refers to the two interrelated aspects, incentive index and reward (penalty) formation. The thesis is intended to investigate the design of the incentive index system in four chapters.Chapter Two of the thesis is an introduction of the relevant theories concerning incentive mechanism in the enterprise. Based on the diversity of benefits and needs generated by the constitution of the incentive mechanism and rewards, the incentive theory can be illustrated as follows: generative theory梡rincipal -agent theory and behavior theory -hypothesis of human nature and human needs.Chapter Three explores the principles to guide the design of index system, namely, the conception of systematic design, sustainable development and dynamic management by objective.Chapter Four is an analysis of the external and internal factors influencing the design of the incentive system in the enterprise. We must take into consideration the intangible asset, particularly the intellectual capital, allowing the talents to display their potential to the greatest extent. From the point of view of the enterprise, incentive mechanism is the strategy of the enterprise in management; thus the design of index is part of the strategy.Chapter Five is a further discussion of the design of index in detail. The author creatively puts forward the structure of the index system of internal incentive mechanism in the enterprise with illustrations. The difference in the stability of the system may lead to the three totally distinct yet closely tied distribution of index, that is, core class, protection class and individuals. Finally, the balanced scorecard is advised to be exploited in the execution of the index system of the incentive mechanism in the enterprise.
