Knowledge Management Strategy In The Knowledge Economy Times

Standing at the threshold of the New Millennium, we have deeply perceived that a completely new form of economy based on knowledge is developing vigorously. In the course of knowledge economy, the importance of knowledge is sequentially incarnated and visualized. Knowledge has become the most important resource in the developing of society. Knowledge capital, involving explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge, construct significant basis in the value of knowledge entrepreneurs and should be applied in the business creation, assisting itself make a persistent developing. Business organizations are coming to view knowledge as their most valuable and strategic resource. Knowledge management (KM) has gradually attracted more attention.Technical and organizational initiatives can provide a comprehensive infrastructure to support knowledge management process. However, the most important context for guiding knowledge management is the firm's strategy.This paper is based on the theories of resource-based view and knowledge-based view. Through the analyses of the attributes of knowledge and the link between knowledge and strategy, this paper puts forward the basic types of knowledge management strategy and sums up knowledge management strategic models, methods and ways for knowledge strategy to accomplish.This paper also points out that creating an environment in favor of knowledge management is crucial for the success of the knowledge management strategy. Advanced information technology, human resources, organization structure, enterprise's culture are the four major parts of the environment.In the end, this paper illuminates the importance of the evaluation for the knowledge management performance, and provides two methods on how to evaluate the performance of knowledge management, according to the flow of knowledge management.
