Modern project management has become the hotspot since 1950s: it is rapidly becoming the management method in the more and more industries. Project management also is the research focus among our country's management circle now, and the large construction-engineering project is the representative example. This thesis takes Dalian New Shipyard Dock Enlarging Engineering Project as a case, and conducts systemically research on organization management, plan management, quality management, safety management, material & equipment management, and cost management. Then educed a complete set of effective solution about project management, which can guide the actual work.In this paper ,firstly the engineering characteristics of Dalian New Shipyard Dock Enlarging Engineering Project was introduced, and then based on these characteristics developing management analysis of following aspects one by one according to project management requirements. (1) About project organization, systemically analyzed the function and importance of project organization management, and the 4 types of typical organization structure. And connect to the facts of Dalian New Shipyard Dock Enlarging Engineering Project, designed Matrix Type Organization Structure of Tier II Function Department. As to Self-finished Engineering, used internal contract pattern to conduct construction organizing.(2) Network Plan Technique has been fully introduced to plan management and schedule control, so that can finish constructing tasks according to time and quality. (3) Idea and method of Total Quality Management have been applied, and provided strict quality control measures based ISO9000 quality management system with connecting to this project's characteristic.(4) Inside Project Department, totally carried out Safety Production Responsibility Rule and set the guideline thought of Safety First, Preventive Priority. During the constructing process, strictly conducted safety inspection work. (5) The Third Party Logistic has been introduced to material management, and realized zero inventory management of materials. Material purchasing is based the operation pattern of MRPII, and audited material suppliers' performance. (6) Provided strong operational methods and measures to the purchasing, using on site, maintenance, and spare parts management of the equipments, which would have been used in construction. (7) In project cost management field, introduced target cost management pattern based on the big 5 principles of construction project cost management. Conducted strictly ration auditing and balance approving of each constructing operation.Focused on guidance and application to practice during researching process, and provided methods and measures with strong practical effective. Also has the characteristic of strong programmatically. The control methods and measures are all implemented during the constructing operation process of Dalian New Shipyard Dock Enlarging Engineering Project. So through researching and drawing conclusion on management methods of large construction engineering project can improve the understanding and innovate methods of project management. And provide good reference to large construction engineering project in the same industry field.
