With the development of project management science and technology, generalized collaboration science and information technology, the management of construction project is becoming more and more integrated and collaborative. The crisis of construction industry in western European countries and the U.S. in the last decade promoted the emergence of the concept of collaborative project management. This new branch of project management science aim to study the collaborative phenomenon and characteristic existed in the construction industry, summarize the basic rules to direct the future project management practice and enhance the efficiency of construction industry. To continue the research of this new branch of project management science has great theoretic and practical significance. After carrying on a detailed literature review and introducing the basic relevant theory, this dissertation proposes a theoretic frame of collaborative project management and a new project delivery system. First, this dissertation introduces the concept, characteristic, and class of collaborative work from the insight of project management. After discussing the development of project management technology, this dissertation analyzes the urgent need of project management to collaborative work, after these discussion, this dissertation introduces the theory of concurrent engineering and partnering, and presents a semi- quantitative and comparative analysis of the collaboration degree of all delivery systems. Second, from the insight of information technology, this dissertation discusses the support of CSCW technology to collaborative work, and especially introduces the table multimedia computer conference system, computer supported collaborative design system and workflow management system and their application in project management. Based on these work, this dissertation proposes a theoretic frame of Computer Supported Collaborative Project Management (CSCPM). Last, this dissertation proposes a new project delivery system suited to experienced client, this system is based on the theory of concurrent engineering and emphasizes the importance of collaboration. In the consultant selection phase and contractor selection phase of this new project delivery system, this dissertation introduces a new multi-factor fuzzy evaluation method. This new evaluation method can handle the difference of expert's opinion in the evaluation process, so it is an improvement to evaluation methods in existence. The theoretic frame of CSCPM and the new project delivery system proposed in this dissertation have some theoretic and practical significance.
