Polygon-partition of farmland is one of the main steps during prime farmland protection planning by using computer, and it is an important technology of mapping automatically of prime farmland protection planning. Usually, polygon-partition was accomplished by drawing a random partition-line on the partitioned polygon unit by hand, while the rational analysis of essential requirements of prime farmland protection was ignored. So the polygon-partition was always arbitrary and random and could not meet the demand of orientation. On the other hand, the completion of polygon-partition usually relays on polygon-partition model of GIS which was selected by hand, So mapping automatically was not achieved. Therefore, it is necessary to research the scientific polygon-partition and mapping automatically, and this research is of theoretic and practical significance.In this paper, some decision-making models of polygon-partition were built to solve the decision-making problem of polygon partition during the mapping automatically of prime farmland protection planning. Applying the principle of dynamic programming and geometry knowledge related, the models were based respectively on factor of connectivity, location and policy. Then these models were implemented by three key technologies:object-oriented technology of VC++, second-developed technology of MAPG1S and integration method of close coupling. Finally, these models were tested in the prime farmland protection planning of a village of Wanbailin District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. The results showed that the models meet the demands of orientation and quantity-fixing of polygon partition during prime farmland protection planning mapping automatically. The research can provide technical supports for mapping automatically during prime farmland protection planning and the optimal allocation of territorial land use.This paper analyzed the building theories and methods of decision-making models of polygon-partition of farmland, and discussed the technologies of how to implement the models by GIS and integration modes. These will enlarge its application fields of decision-theory, object-oriented technology, second-developed technology and integration technology.
