Petro China Daqing Refining and Chemical Company is a large modem enterprise which was combined by the former Petrochemical Plant of Daqing Oil Field Company Ltd. and Linyuan Petrochemical Company in December 2000. It undertakes fuel oil, polymer, paraffin wax and chemical fibre, with the main products of non-lead gasoline, light diesel fuel, 20# heavy diesel fuel, topped oil, naphtha, aviation kerosene, cracked diesel oil (chemical light oil), fuel oil (goudron), base oil, isomer dewaxing oil, liquid petroleum gas, propane, propylene, MTBE, benzene, toluene, xylene, paraffin wax, polyacrylamide, acrylonitrile, ammonia sulfate, semi-refined asphalt, acrylon, furfural extract oil, liquid nitrogen, etc, totaling 338 varieties and more than 100 kinds of brands. The company is now carrying its domestic business in 25 cities, and in the year 2000, it earned an annual income of 11.91 billion RMB.The sales mission of Petro China Daqing Refining and Chemical Company is carried out by its affiliated Sales Company, which is composed of the five subordinated companies named Oil Sales Branch Company, Chemicals Sales Branch I Company, Chemicals Sales Branch II Company, Railway Transportation Company, and Arrears Clearing Department; with an organ constituted by the Hub Office, the Managing Department, the Merchandising Department, and the Marketing Department, has a staff of 231, with the average age of 29. The main equipment includes 4 locomotives, 750 self-contained tank-cars, the inner special railroad of 24.96 kilometers. The fixed asset has reached 349 million RMB, with a net asset of 266 million RMB.The case brings forward the example that Daqing Refining and Chemical Company adjusts its marketing strategy of sales goal, market orientation policy, product policy, price policy, and product transportation policy, etc, which ensures the accomplishment of the benefit target of Petro China. It also analyzes the development and market strategy of Daqing Refining and Chemical Company.
