Business competition is essentially a competition based on human resources. As a special human capital,hotel managers are important strategic resource for hotels. Their enthusiasm is a critical factor that determines the success or failure of their hotel. With increasing maturation of market economy in China,the development of knowledge economy,and the globalization of world economy,competition among hotels will intensify constantly. In order to boost the competitiveness of accommodation enterprises,hotel reform is definitely to go deeper. How to acknowledge the value of hotel managers as human capital and actualize property rights of human capital is a big issue that confronts the hotel industry in China.The article focuses on the property rights of human capital in the process of hotel reform. Based upon a comprehensive review of literature on property rights of human capital,the article identifies four major features and several pricing practices of the human capital. The author builds a theoretical foundation for the actualization of property rights of human capital. With results from interviews,case analyses and questionnaires,the article studies the relationship between hotel reform and the property rights of human capital,between human capital pricing practices and the hotel managers' job satisfaction,turnover intention and hotel performance. Upon the preceding research,the author concludes that the actualization of property rights of human capital has positive impacts on hotel development and that it is critical to encourage hotel reform to go deeper after the change of organizational format of hotel enterprises. Compared with other researches on hotel enterprise reform,the author's perspective is different,which forms the main innovation point of the article.
