With the establishment and continuous improvement of market-oriented economy system in China, then the entry to WTO, the market environment, which the manufacturing industry in our country depends on is changing abruptly at home and abroad. On the one hand, the world-manufacturing center will be transferred to China, which bring an unprecedented chance for our manufacturing industry to develop. On the other hand, the enterprise is faced with big challenges inside and outside, and pressures brought by economy globalization. Under the circumstance, how to take advantage of advanced management idea and technology to be of highly competitive becomes urgent particularly.ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) system, being proved as a mature information management system by successful experiences in lots of foreign enterprises, is the first choice for the requirement of management in most discrete manufacturing enterprises undoubtedly. Because there is no solid foundation in management, no scientific methods in implementation, and no changes in administration, many enterprises can' t bring the function of ERP system into play effectively, and don' t gain benefits from ERP implementation finally. This paper inquires into the methods of implementing ERP system and the function of BPR(Business Process Reengineering) by describing and analyzing the process of ERP system implementation which in Dingsheng Enterprise especially in the second successful implementing process.First, this paper makes an exposition about ERP theory and this prepares the theory for the research of ERP system implementation in Dingsheng Enterprise. The third chapter explains the first implementing process and the reasons for failure in particular, and points out that carrying out BPR is the guarantee to act ERP successfully further. The fourth chapter makes a diagnosis to Dingsheng' s management, introduces and analyses the changing process of management in detail. The fifthchapter describes that Dingsheng used BPR to have the ERP implemented again and gain a stage victory, from which they sum up several inspirations. In the part of summary, it points out that the second implementation of ERP system is successful and the process can be used for reference.By researching with authentic proof of this paper, we find a good way to implement ERP. That is the scientific methods of program management combine with business process reengineering. This plays an extremely practical role in transforming thoughts, introducing new management technology, accepting advanced management idea, and the aspect of how to act ERP system effectively and successfully in our country. It' s also a reference for other kinds of enterprise.
