In order to achieve breakthrough improvements in performance measures of business process, BPR (Business Process Reengineering) proposes to reduce NVAs (Non-value-added Actions), solve bottlenecks, and pursue optimization of business process. As a result, many BPR-supporting technologies have been developed. In the paper BPR-supporting technologies including business process modelling, business process simulation, business process performance measures, critical business process recognition and alternative plan selection are systematically studied.Business process modelling and simulation technology is one of the most important BPR-supporting technologies. In the paper objects of business process modelling in discrete manufacturing enterprise are analyzed, modelling method of static attributes and dynamic operation rules are proposed. Thus description of dynamic business process is realized and process-entity-based modelling technology is founded. On the basis of this, business process simulation mechanism, activity control method, event-dealing method and graphic interface for modelling and simulation are studied.Performance measures are very important for business process evaluation and simulation analysis. In the paper business process evaluation characteristic and performance measure selection principles are discussed respectively. Business process performance measures are divided into instantaneous measures, instantaneous statistics and process statistics according to their utilization. Performance measures for whole business process and typical processes are presented with their formulas.Critical business processes have great effect on performance measures of whole business process. Recognition of critical business processes is precondition of high effective BPR implementation. In the paper business process of discrete manufacturing enterprise are partitioned in the light of value-added-chain. Account methods of product cost and process cost are put forward on the basis of ABC (Activity-based Cost). Shortcomings of process image are pointed out as recognition method of critical business processes. Synthetic measures for critical business process recognition are proposed. Synthetic recognition method of critical business process is founded on thebasis of combination of process analysis and benchmark analysis.Alternative plan selection should be carried out with reference of business process performance measures. As various factors must be considered scientific methods are needed to choose better alternative plan. In the paper AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is applied in alternative plan selection. Because performance measures are properly selected, evaluation and selection method of alternative plans is of great operability and briefness. At the same time value field of AHP power vector is extended and a series of basic AHP methods are presented. Rank reversal in basic AHP methods is explained with practical significance of power vector.On the basis of theoretical research, BPRSIM (BPR-Supporting Modelling and Simulation Platform) is introduced, which is developed with participation of author. Application example of BPRSIM and theoretical technologies is presented at last.
