There has been rapid progress of national economy since the reform and open-up 20 years ago. With the further development of the reform, The regional economic benefit that follows and being reinforced continuously causes the distinct difference between areas. The regional economy difference and the national economy development begin to attract the attention of the Chinese scolar, They consider the Jeffery G Williamson's reversed "U" theory that was proposed in 1960's the classic theory to study the pattern of the regional economy difference, and claim that the difference can not be interfered in. The problem that if there exists the mould of reversed "U" between the regional economy difference and the national economy development and if the difference will become less with the development of economy are important to the researcher and the policy-maker.This paper begins with the relationship between the regional economy difference and the national economy development, analyzes the case of Chinese regional economy difference and the causes of the difference, intends to find the feature and the tendency of the change of these differences provide the base to the policy-making.The paper can be divided into 5 sections. The author uses the way of absolute parameter and the relative parameter to measure the degree of the regional economy difference in different year, and draws the picture concerning the relationship between the yearly regional economy difference as well as the economic growth. Compared with the mould of the reversed "U", the trace and form of regional economy difference can be found out. The international comparison shows that the Chinese regional economy differs greatly. Section 5 The possibility and suggestion of lessening the regional economy difference and keeping the continuous growth of the national economy.Based on the quantitative and the qualitative analysis, the following conclusion can be drawn.1 The analysis of the case showed that the regional economy difference would expand with the development of the economy in the premier stage and the difference would keep expanding even if the economy reaches to the higher stage, so the process of Chinese regional economy development will not become the mould of the reversed "U".2 By the analysis of the causes of the form variety of the regional economy difference, the author proposes that apart from the economic foundation and the national policy of the area, the singly transformation of productivity elements is the main reason why the regional economy difference is not the mould of the reversed "U".3 The national economy will grow continuously only when the regional economy difference becomes less. The great difference will have negative effect on the economy and the society. Hence the proficiency of the national economy will become weak in the long run.
