Study on the Relations Between the LUCC and Demographic Factors in Headstream Zone of Tarim RiverYangjun (Soil Science)Supervised by Prof.Guan Xin,Prof.Wen Qikai and Prof. Li XiangyunAbstract: According to the United Nations criterion, the land supporting capacity in arid zone is 7 person/102hm2.The headstream zone of Tarim River is a typical arid zone,and the population have been increased.So this paper discussed the LUCC situation.Based on the Xinjiang land-use maps of 1990and 2000,and used geographic information system tools such as Arcinfo,Arcview and statistical software,the paper analyzed the temporal & spatial change on land-use/coverage from 1990 to 2000.Used statistical software such as Excel and SPSS,we analyzed statistical population and cencus population of study area and summarized the changing situation of amount,density ,city and rural population ,and cultural feature.It is indicated that all kinds of land-use has changed in study area in past 10 years,and reclamation is widespread.Among 3 headstreams,Aksu River is the quickest one in cultivated area increased,land-use degree increased and no-utilized area decreased.LUCC changed among cultivated land,grass land and no-utilized land,which mainly effected by rural population.On the direction of land use,the contradiction is very acute between land development with the aim of complicated effect and land use only with the aim of economic effect.Demographic factor is the main driving force in study area especially rural population...
