Performance management system designing is the precondition and core of setting up human resource management system of modern enterprises. How to design and set up a performance system, which is scientific and suitable to China and meet to the requirement of tactic development for the enterprises, is a completely new and important task to the enterprises in China, especially for the state-owned enterprise. In this paper, a new performance management system is design from the essential theory of performance management, according to the evaluation and analysis on the original performance examination system of SG company.In the first part, we expatiate and study the significance, meaning, objective, importance, content of performance management, the relationship between the performance management and the organization strategy, the roles of performance in human resource management. Meanwhile, we assess the crucial factors and general problems in performance management, which compose the theories foundation of performance management system design. In the second part , we particularly analyze the original performance examination system of SG company and present the problem. In the third part, we design the performance management system on the base of the combination of theory and practical situation of SG company. In the last part, we evaluate the efficiency of the performance management system and summarizes the problem of the system.I have made an in-depth study of the fundamental theories on the performance management , designed the performance management on the base of combination of theory and the practical situation of SG company. However, there is still some problems to be solved due to the my limited level. I will keep on studying new theories and applying them in my future work to improve my ability in performance management.
