The Effects Of Natural Forest Protection Program On The Economic Development Of Collective Forestry Region In Gui Zhou Province

In 1998, according to our nation's ecological environmental status, and for the realization of the long term development for our country and nation, the natural forest protection program (NFPP) was implemented in the upside of the Yangtse River, the middle reachers of Yellow River, the northeast of China, Inner-Mongolia Municipality and some other areas by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. 69 countries and 8 separate cities, located in Guizhou Province, was involved in this engineering.The implementation of the natural forest protection program (NFPP) on the upside of the Yangtse River is a momentous decision which was made by the central government in consideration of the economic and social sustained development. It is also the fundamental measure to prevent and father the possible flooding in these areas. It is one essential part of the big exploitation in the west of China, as well as a basic step to improve the indigenous ecological environment. It ultimately aimed to develop the local social economy, even the whole country' s social economy.This engineering, which covers many fields and takes massive cost, has great impact on the protection and construction of Guizhou province' s ecological environment and the sustained development of the local economy and society. It may benefit several generation, though is ascribed to the current government.The Guizhou province' s economy is under developing. The farming people and the indigenous economy greatly rely on the forest industry resource. The implementation of the natural forest logging inhibition and the reduction of the timber production may bring about some temporary damage to the life of the local peasants.In the begging of the theses, a statement is made to describe the optimist affect of the implementation of NFPP on the sustained development of Guizhou province' s collective forestry.
