In recent years, with the automobile industry developing rapidly, especially under the situation of a few large-scale automobile manufacturers imported foreign technology and trademark in succession, so the competition of the industry is getting tougher and tougher. Besides the competition between the enterprises imported advanced technology and trademark, they are in competition between advanced producing process and purchase of equipment. For the latter, they hope to purchase the machines with excellent quality and optimum cost-performance ratio in the market, meanwhile they also hope to produce their excellent products in the shortest period. It is important conditions to choose and buy the machines possessed the advantage of advance and delivery in time. For the equipment of automobile industry, gear manufacturing machine, especially the gear hobbing machine with a wide application, becomes the most key equipment. In the condition of the development and maturity for the CNC technology, there are 1 -axis, 2-axis, and 3-axis CNC gear hobbing machines in the market. However, full-CNC gear hobbing machines and its serial products with flexibility, high speed and high efficiency are blank and immature products. So far, there are few research results for them.The situation and development of domestic and foreign manufacture, especially in the Europe, America and Asia, have been summarized and researched in the article, so the following work has been finished, and the conclusions and results are obtained as follows:Through analyzing the features of movement, power and construction for the high-speed CNC gear hobbing machine in 6-axis with four coordinated, the design methods of general arrangement, kinetics and kinematics are put forward.1. By analyzing the severe challenge to the machine manufacture in the market, developing and managing methods of serial modular products are posed.2. By analyzing dialectical relationship of technical advance and reasonable economy for the development and modular design of high-speed CNC gear hobbing machine in 6-axis with four coordinated, the analysing method for economy of the product according to the marginal cost method is raised.3. Combined with the status of Chongqing Machine Tool Works, the researching project "Industrializing Innovation for National Great Technology & Equipment In2001" has been finished, {Project No. National Economy and Trade Technology [2001] 519}, {Project Name: research of module for YKS3120 high-speed CNC gear hobbing machine in 6-axis with four coordinated and its serial products}, meanwhile products YKS3120 and its serial modular products YKS3132 high-speed CNC gear hobbing machine have been developed. Two serial products have been completed the acceptance check. The conclusions for the appraisal are as followed: its technical performance can be up to the international advanced level and has strong competitive strength in the international market.
