The Construction Of Fractal Model Of Regional Sustainable Development Evaluation

The evaluation of region sustainable development is a key step from theory to practice. The region sustainable development system is a huge complex system and is obviously of self-organization and non-linearity. So it is localized obviously to research it with normal linear method. Fractal theory takes non-linear complex systems as its objects and is an effective method to solve complex problems. The author analyses the region sustainable development system with system theory and method such as its constitutes, functions, aims, characters; expatiates its operating drives and operating mechanisms; validates the definition of sustainable development of Mrs. Bluntland's by analyzing the system; defines rigorously the contents of development and sustainability and their behaviors; constructs the index system of evaluation of region sustainable development according to some scientific principles. The self-organization system is always obviously of self-similarity and the system of region sustainable development is obviously a self-organization system. Based on grasping the connotation of sustainable development, the author constructs the two dimensions model to evaluate the conditions of region sustainable development with fractal theory according to its structure of two dimensions of development level and sustainability. The model corresponds the statistical indexes of region sustainable development systeiri to dots on the coordinate of multi-dimension space and takes the fractal dimensions as the parameters of conditions of region sustainable development according to the spatial distribution characteristics of the dots. The author takes nine provinces (or regions) of Yellow river drainage area as objects to perform applied study and shows the result by GIS and vector, this indicates that the model is feasible. The paper is consisted of seven parties as follows:The introduction introduces briefly the origin, development, concept, contents, principles of sustainable development theory and the recent advance of study of regional sustainable development.Part one is the analysis of region sustainable development system. In this part the author defines the system of regional sustainable development, analyses it systematically, summarizes the features of it, pointed out the goal of it and reveals the motivity and pattern of it.Part two is the fractal theory and its application in the field of geography. In this part, the author summarizes the basic content of the fractal theory and its developing course briefly, and sums up the progress of the application study of the fractal theory in the field of geography in China. Meanwhile discusses the problems in the applied study of the fractal theory in the field of geography and prospects the applied study.Part three is evaluation of region sustainable development and the analysis of its approaches. In this part, the author defines the concept of evaluation of regional sustainable development and expounds its significance. Based on the evaluation viewpoint, he divides the evaluation into two kinds: one is lateral; the other is vertical. According to the evaluated objects, he divides the evaluation into two kinds of systematic synthetical one and individual aspect one. Then he comments on the approaches of the evaluation of regional sustainable development.Part four is the construction of fractal evaluation model of region sustainable development. In this part, at first the author expounds the features of region sustainable development, then constructs the two-dimension frame of the evaluation of region sustainable development, which two dimensions refer to developing dimension and sustainability dimension and expounds the evaluation principle of region sustainable development. According to the two-dimension frame, he constructs the fractal evaluation model of region sustainable development, even chooses evaluation modules and forms the evaluation index system and introduces the evaluation course briefly.Part five is the evaluation of sustainable development...
