The Study On Product Structure & Configuration Management Of PLM For Manufacturing Industry

Nowadays, the demands of people have not ever been limited in mass-products. To pursue the personality and fad becomes more and more bulge. As the origin of product Manufacturing industries encounter new challengers and should be reformed under this situation. Product lifecycle management (PLM), as a new management idea or conception, has been paid much attention aboard. However, the study of it is just on the threshold in our country. Especially the study of the structure and configuration management, which dominates the development of product, is still very immaturity, and has ever been almost blank. This dissertation will try to study the structure and configuration of PLM in manufacturing industry.There are some achievements in this dissertation as the followings: 1. The dissertation summarizes a complete index system of PLM. and points out to design product with the structure and configuration management. At the same time, it analyses the structure constitute of product by design methodology science, and then try to solve the design issue with product structure tree. The departments in companies almost pay the views only on themselves in our country. As a result, new products are designed always from the beginning, and the former documents are reused in a very limited degree. Designing by configuration, the data will be summered in a consolidated knowledge warehouse. And then we can create new product by configuring knowledge source, using the "Know-how", and the speed will be many times. 2. It builds a general database model of configuration management, and builds a dynamic product structure and configuration management model. Therefore, we can design product by use of configuring model in BOM . but notfrom the beginning. The speed will become much more higher if we use parameters models.3. The dissertation tries to expound and discuss the project of system integrated. Now many corporations use software such as AutoCAD to design, and administer the enterprise source by ERP, and customer with CRM. Most of them can not exchange because they are different in format between systems. PLM provides a platform to different systems for configuration management. So AutoCAD. ERP and CRM will be integrated on it, and pass data with special joints.4. Put the theory into practice. The dissertation gives a smart PLM system based on garment industry to test some ideas in the paper.In summery, the contents of this dissertation are very novelty. Most of them belong to attempt and explore. What is innovation of this paper is that it puts the PLM idea to product design and builds a configuration management model with general database and dynamics module. At last, it tries to integrate different systems to exchange data.
