A Study Of Supply Chain Management System Coordination

The coordination issues in supply chain system are discussed systematically and thoroughly. The definition of supply chain coordination (SCC) is given, and the reasons and effects of supply chain distortion are analyzed. Controlling modes, contents and means of SCC are presented.The three issues of supply chain coordination are specifically discussed as followed.For the operational coordination, such as coordination between purchasing and inventory, coordination between transportation and inventory and coordination between buyer and vendor, the corresponding models are developed, the solutions based on the theory and method of operations research presented, and the corresponding illustrations followed.For the strategic coordination, gravity location model and network optimization model are presented here. In the latter, its objectives integrate supply chain flexibility so that the whole supply chain is more harmonious to deal with the market uncertainty. And the several solutions to the model are discussed finally.For the coordination between supply chain and the environment, its preliminary study is given. Green supply chain and the importance of and five means of coordinating SC and environment are mainly discussed.For supply chain partnership(SCP), firstly the author demonstrates it is a good coordination method throughout supply chain management, and discusses advantages and disadvantages of SCP. A system to select, evaluate and negotiate with copartner is presented. For vendor selection, one of the core problems in setting up SCP, a mixed integer linear programming model based on present literature is developed, which integrates one-stage and multi-stage vendor selection. By this model, vendor and vendor's vendor can be selected. Thus better coordination of the supply chain can be achieved with SCP.
