Studies On Product Development Process

Aiming at product development process, three detail problems are analyzed andinvestigated deeply, namely a method for the choice of product development project,risk analysis in the concurrent product development process, and the policy of marketentry. Firstly, a new integrated method for the choice of product development project ispresented,integrating Absolute Concentration Curves and Analytic Network Process.The paper establishes a model for the choice of product development project includingnetwork subsystem, emphasizes the product portfolio management, especially therelativity of the presented product and the new product. Secondly, the paper investigates two phases product concurrent developmentactivity. The time and cost function for concurrent development are established, and thetime and cost risk model also are founded. According to the two risks tradeoffs, theweight summation is minimized in order to guarantee the product development toachieve its time and cost objects. Lastly, aiming at the policy of market entry, the paper analyzed entry opportunityand entry area policy. The synthesized policy of market entry model is presented. Thispaper puts forward fore synthesized policy applying for fore corporation types, andpoints at the reply policy also should be take into account including availability ofresource and the development of later products.
