Mainly based on theoretic clue of the relationship of state and civil society, this thesis formulates the origin and the evolving process of Marx's civil society thought, to reveal the theory significance and the contemporary inspiration of Marx's civil society thought. The thesis consists of three sections. Beginning with the relationship of state and civil society, the first section investigates the modern origin and the direct source of Marx's civil society thought. Following the logic clue of Marx's works in different periods, the second section clarifies the starting-point, the value tendency and the new perspective of Marx's civil society thought, the main purpose of this section is to expound the evolving track of Marx's civil society thought. The third section puts an emphasis on the inner contact between Marx's civil society thought and civil society theory of western Marxist, and meanwhile, it argues the feasible ways of constructing socialistic civil society.
