On Quality Education Of Chinese Modern Farmers

This paper focuses on problems of quality education of Chinese modern farmers. It mainly explores three problems. They are understanding of farmer quality problem, analysis of the status quo of farmer quality, and ways to improve farmer quality.First, farmer quality problem must be understood accurately. This paper thinks that farmer quality problem is very important for affecting the overall situation of modernization construction. Prosperity of nation, rising of race, and national quality are the factors which decide modernization construction. Two most important ways to improve multiple national power and promote Ch. People are using talents and improving national quality. As an old proverb says, "Education is to last for generations." But present conditions of national, especially farmers' low quality can not keep up with requirements of modernization construction. For this reason improving farmers' quality demands immediate attention.Modern farmer qualities contain thoughts and morals quality, civilization quality, science and technology quality, economic behavior quality, politics quality, body quality, mentality quality, aesthetic quality, etc.When studying farmer problem, we can not avoid meeting that scholars and politicians through the ages do understand and attach importance to agriculture and farmer problems. For example, Confucian thoughts of acting according to common people have developed into thoughts of acting according to agriculture, the thoughts which was taken as basic national policy of dynasties through the ages. The developed countries' experience of improving national quality and farmers' quality lies in devoting major efforts to developing national education. Take America, Europe, Japan, Singapore and Korea as examples. Their economic development fullyproves that it is education which can make a state found and be powerful. Our Party and government have attached importance to farmer problem all along. At present farmer quality problem has become one subject under discussion taken seriously by party and government and each social stratum.Second, this paper analyzes the status quo of Chinese farmers' quality with objective and scientific attitude. It mainly analyzes farmers' cultural components, science and technology education, thoughts and concepts, psychological quality, state of health, educational charges and so on. Since new China was established, farmer quality and public cultural institutions of countryside have been improved a lot, and primary school has been spread among farmers. At present our country has accomplished aim of nine-year compulsory education and wiped out young illiteracies on the whole. But there are still many worrying problems deserving much attention. Lots of data and tables prove that farmer quality requires being improved.On farmers' psychological quality, modern value concept gradually steps into farmers' minds. They are unceasingly improving their self-consciousness, opening consciousness, competition consciousness, effectiveness concept and thirst for knowledge. Certainly traditional and backward value concepts, such as closed small farmer consciousness, traditional family concept, ignorant feudal customs, and blind others-following mentality, have been existing for a long time and hindered development of countryside modernization but deserves more attention and worries. Farmers' state of hygiene and health is not good. And phenomenon of early marriage, early birth giving, and being reborn which seriously influence women's health and population quality, are usually seen in countryside. These unfavorable factors will lead to that it is quite difficult for national birth control policy to be put in force. Countryside has been in difficult position for a long time for they bear heavy burden of large population and low farmer quality.
