The theories on comparative advantage (CA) are the soul of international trade theories, while comparative advantage on agricultural products (CAAP) is hot issue in research on agricultural international trade. In China, some scholars have done empirical researches on CAAP in the scope of the whole country. The productive conditions of agricultural products (AP) vary from the geographical diversities that result in differences on CAAP in various districts, although few researchers noticed that and little research has done. Moreover, phenomena whether CAAPs match the performances on international trade or not, and the reason why accordance or discordance exists, are seldom discussed in the historical literature. To mend the shortages mentioned above, this dissertation measures and analyses empirically the CAAPs of primary APs in Hebei Province, discusses the extent which they match the performances on international trade respectively. Based on cause-analysis, the recommendations are advanced from the points of supports from government and enhancement of agricultural industrialization. This dissertation includes introduction and four chapters. The introduction displays the value of this dissertation; summarize the development of the theories on CA, empirical researches on CAAP and literature review. The framework, research tactics and methods, contributions are also discussed. The first chapter introduces the basic contents of agreements on agriculture products in WTO framework and China government's promises for opening to WTO, the adjustments in agriculture production and trade policies in China. Subsequently this part analyses scale and structure of international trade on AP for several years in Hebei province, and the relative datum of the whole nation are contrast. The second chapter expounds the involvements and essences of the theories on AP from the view of international trade, and several empirical methods measuring CAAP are introduced and commented. In the third chapter, the CAAPs of eight APs (including rice, corn, wheat, bean, peanut, apple, pear, and vegetables) in Hebei Province are computed and analyzed by the method of Domestic Resource Cost Coefficient (DRCC). The sources of the datum and the mathematical treatments are also explained. The datum on the performances oninternational trade are compared and contrasted respectively with the datum of CAAPs. The reasons why they match or not are discussed briefly. The last chapter discusses how the local government utilizes the supporting policy, which are prescribed in WTO agreements, how to adjust agricultural strcture and how to improve agricultural industrialization, thus enhance the CAAP and competences in Hebei Province.
