Study Of The Relationship Between Agriculture Core Competence And Agricultural Structure Optimization

Agriculture is the basis of national economy. As regards a country like China with large farmer population, the sustainable development of agriculture is of significance. With accelerating the process of agricultural market economy and deepening the development of opening door to the outside world, the competence of agriculture is becoming more and more important Facing the weak agricultural competence, the domestic studies focus on the assessment of international competition of agricultural products by utilizing the theory of superior comparison. Agriculture competence has been equated to the competition of agricultural products and confined in the field of international market. Agriculture core competence is regarded as the industry competence's connotation, characteristics and resultant mechanism, and its study is not paid due attention. Moreover, agriculture core competence is not concerned in the key concept of modern competition theory-the core competence. The competition is a complex system that includes many factors and varies according to different objects and in this system, only the core competence which can not be substituted and is hard to simulate and made up of unique component can rearrange both the crucial resource and core technology and make competitive subject get sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, since entering market economy, adjusting agricultural structure is an important means to meet the market demand and increase farmers' income. However, it should be recognized that adjusting industry structure has to be at the cost of giving up the investment and knowledge accumulation of old industry and building the new industry during the transformation of industry. In the market economy conditions, Adjusting agricultural structure should be a kind of group sensible behavior that pursues the maximum of benefit, and judging and realizing this maximum is agriculture competence, especially, agriculture core competence. But, what is regretful is that in the process of longterm study and practice of agricultural structure, this basic theory is not paid much attention. Agriculture structure optimization is replaced by agricultural structure adjustment. Agricultural structure adjustment becomes the purpose of agricultural development in terms of alienation, with no consideration of the agriculture competence. Therefore, studying the relationship between agriculture core competence through agricultural structure adjustment and exploring how to optimize the agricultural structure on the base of agriculture core competence has theoretical and realistic significance.On the premise of summarizing the previous related researches, this paper introducesthe concept approach and theory of modern corporation core competition into agricultureby the way of the theoretical and empirical analysis combination, and it makes effort tobuild the frame of the agricultural core competence theory by applying the theory ofindustrial structure, the theory of industrial organization and new institutional economicstheory and explore the relationship between agriculture core competence and agriculturestructure optimization. This paper maintains that agriculture core competence refers to theability of producers' using resources of advantage to develop unique technology andunique products and the ability of using unique sales measures; the agriculture corecompetence is made up of the agricultural resource core competence, the producers' corecompetence and institution's core competence, as is usually demonstrated in the pricecompetence of products, the quality competence of products and the reputationcompetence of the products.
