Study On The Index System And The Evaluating Method On Agricultural Modernization

Modernization is the necessary way to the human society, and agricultural modernization is the important part of it. It is the most important strategic: target for Chinese government to realize the modernization including agricultural modernization. Chairman Jiang Zemin put forward that the coastal and developed areas should realize modernization firstly after he inspected Zhejiang Jiangsu and Shanghai in 1998. Under the realizing modernization policy from the Central Government, every government drafts its agricultural modernization developing plan one after another. Great changes have been taken place in Chinese agriculture and tremendous achievement has been gained in the coastal areas and the suburbia of many big cities after China's reforming and opening. Because agricultural modernization has the paragraphic character during its development, it is necessary for us to select an integrated system of evaluating index to track, supervise and evaluate the level of agricultural modernization. This paper puts forward the basic theory of agricultural modernization based on the practice of other developed countries and makes the standards for the agricultural modernization and a system of operative evaluating index. Based on this index, the government can evaluate the level of any areas' agricultural modernization.This paper is divided into 6 parts. Chapter 1, the researching background, purpose and research trends are introduced. The fundamental theories of agricultural modernization are exhibited in chapter 2. Describing the character of agricultural modernization and putting forward the evaluating standards in chapter 3. Making a complete index system of agricultural modernization in chapter 4. In chapter 5 putting forward the method of evaluation on agricultural modernization. At last, taking Shandong province for example, introduce the application of the evaluation method.
