After an analysis of the economic globalisation in terms of its implications, features, functions and influences, the present paper discusses the issue of industrial structure safety. It points out that the structuie of national economy should be considered at a more sophisticated level in the context of economic globalization. An ideal structure should be self-improving, competitive, and contributive to the growth of national economy. Besides it should ensure a nati 3n its more favorable position in the international labor distribution. The paper proposes the concept of structural safety and gives it a detailed analysis, elaborating on the relationship between the development of industrial structure and the safety of industrial structure as well as the causes of discontinuity risks involved in the process of ratior alization. As a conclusion, the author proposes his framework of a safe structural system based on the real situation in China with a view to ensuring the balanced development of both basic industry and manufacturing.
