Land resources is the foundation of the existence and development of human society, its quantity, quality and structure has profound influence on the economy, political strength, and prospect of one country. In the last two decades, the contradiction between people and land loomed and became increasingly prominent with the population increase and economic development, especially in the urban areas, where low efficient and irrational use of land resources make a lot of waste and limit the development of national economy. On one hand, the economic development is increasingly depending on the land resources allocation, on the other hand, both the market and macro-control mechanism failed sometimes. Based on the analysis of the current allocation mechanism and efficiency of land resources in urban areas, this paper comes up with that the property rights of land must be clearly defined then deeply probes the property rights and put forward the train of thought to reform it. On the basis of clear property rights of urban land resources, optimizing the land supply mechanism, consummating and regulating the land market, and bringing the government's macro-control role into play are the several keys to lift up the allocation efficiency of urban land resources. The paper consists of seven parts: 1. Preface; 2. cademic framework of land resource allocation; 3. The current situation of land resource allocation and efficiency analysis in the urban areas; 4. The reform of the property rights and optimizing the land resources allocation in the urban areas; 5. The analysis of the land supply mechanism and model optimized; 6.
