Taking theories of Project Management, CMM, Software Engineering, Iso9000 as the toll, this paper analyses the problems of Embedded system project management operating in A Corp. who is a civil public IT company. Through combining 4 theories and introducing quantity management model, the project management of A Corp. has stepped up to a high level . A Corp. who is leading in developing and producing Embedded device,passed the ISO9001 certification on August 2000 and has 5 years experience in project management,but A Corp. is not very immature on project management and has big room for improvement. There are 3 reasons causing the malfunction of its project management as follows: Lack of scope managementNo adequate investigation on market demand is taken, thus making hotheaded decision. No scientific quantity method is applied,so the discrepancy happened during execution is very high.Lack of schedule managementAlthough the ISO9000 is applied, the information is not effectively communicated. Since schedule management tool is not fully used, the Critical path analysis is not well analyzed and controlled. Lack of quality management A Corp. is lack of continuous development long-term plan and advanced management theory which is fit to A Corp,Although A Corp. passed the ISO9001 certification, Urgent improvements are required not only on process management, but also on quantity quality plan and execution area.Based on studying in MBA theory more than two years and having 10 years working experience in A Corp., a new embedded system project management model IMMM (Integrated management maturity model) is formulated by the writer taking theories of Project Management, CMM, Software Engineering, ISO9000 as the toll. First of all, extensive market investigation and new project improvement system need to be enhanced.The process of Scientific decision-making is facilitated by introducing functions measurement mode. Secondly, the schedule management shall include CPM assessment. Key point control, Tanughi Method. Finally, the quality management shall embrace the above mentioned 4 theories by introducing quantity quality plan and its execution and enhancing the process management. Data from a few projects execution from Nov. 2003 to Apr. 2004 of A corp. expresses as follows: the new model IMMM has helped A Corp. to make considerable achievement with new project success rate up 15%, schedule accomplishment rate up 19.53%, thus stably improving the quality and lowering the customer complaint rate by 25%.
