Using Methods Of Project Management To Develop Aided-Decision Making System In Songzao Coal And Electricity Company

As the development of information construction in our nation and the industry policy in the new era, more and more large-scale and middle-scale enterprises are promoting their information management capability to improve their operation and management. This also promotes the development of software industry. But at present there are mostly small and middle-scale companies in software industry and at the same time the capability of software development is still in a lower level. Software companies do not have any well-arranged criterion to follow.It is very important to find the suitable management models for small-scale and middle-scale software companies by using the ideas and methods of project management in software development field and assimilating the experience and results about software development research in foreign countries. It will improve the level of software development and competition power, and also reduce the risk in software development for these companies.In this paper, the author examined the developing process of aided-decision making system in Songzao Coal and Electricity Company, and constructed an integrated information platform to improve the company's data management by using data warehouse and OLAP technology. It will help the company's operation and management and make the information communication easier, In the process of system development, the author applied the methods of project management and capability maturity model to improve the software quality and reduce the development cost.There are five parts in the paper.Part one introduced the present information management in coal industry, and mainly introduced the aided-decision making system in Songzao Coal and Electricity company, including the development principles and system structure.Part two discussed the main theory and technology in system development, which included data warehouse theory, capability maturity model for software, project manage theory and on-line analytical processing.Part three discussed the design of data warehouse, which included the construction of data model, data extract and data management.Part four discussed the using of project management methods, which included the planning, quality control and risk management.In the end, the author made conclusion and gave some useful suggestion about software development and management.
