The 21st century is a century taking knowledge economy as main characteristic. In this competitive era, the process of integration of politics, economy and culture in the world is being accelerated. The theory and way of management are changing continuously. Management based on corporation culture is becoming the mainstay of management mode in the 21st century. It is essential for us to change the traditional management mode and take the advantages of the function of corporation to manage a corporation, if we want to realize the dream of well-off society, modernization and sustainable development.The upsurge of studying the corporation culture has been stirred in the world since the 1970s~1980s. It was in the late 1980s and at the beginning of the 1990s that the research on corporation started. Some scholars such as Luo Changhai, Liu Guangming etc. began to study the corporation culture and published monographs too. All these have paved the way for the implement of management based on corporation culture in China. But it is still a long way for us to reach the actual knowledge economy. How to implement the management based on corporation culture to meet the requirement of new era is still a question to be further discussed. The purpose of this paper is to seek the way of management based on corporation that can meet the need of knowledge economy. For this purpose, the method of synthesizing and comparing is adopted and the perspective of renewal of management based on corporation culture is taken. Considering the actual condition of our country, the advantages of distillation of our traditional culture is fully taken of and the advanced experience of management based on corporation culture from foreign countries is selectively absorbed.Besides the foreword and conclusion, this paper consists of four parts. In the first part, the theoretical origin of is mainly discussed. The management based on corporation culture is an inevitable outcome of the development of scientific management of modern enterprise. The theory of management based on corporation culture successively underwent four different stages: classical, behavior science, the jungle theory and the management based on corporation culture. Corporation cultures in Japan and U.S.A have their separate characteristics and they are the mirrors of implementing management based on corporation culture. Therefore, a lot of successful practical experience can be learned from them.The management based on corporation culture in era of knowledge economy is analyzed in the second part. Its connotation, elements, essence and main characteristics are studied. Inside and outside environment that corporations are facing in the era of knowledge economy are far different from that in the era of traditional economy, which makes the management based on corporation culture have new connotation and characteristics. The management based on corporation culture is a kind of conscious action that an enterprise administrator applies the theory of corporation culture to enterprise management. The corporation culture is embodied in enterprise management. It is thought in this paper that the key elements of management based on corporation culture in the era of knowledge economy are entrepreneur and environment of an enterprise and its essential characteristic is human-based. At the same time, the management based on corporation culture in era of knowledge economy has the following important characteristics: paying attention to the soft elements, various modes, regarding innovation as soul, emphasizing the sustainable development of enterprise and attaching importance to education.In the third part, the current situation of management based on corporation culture in the era of knowledge economy is studied.
