Competitive Intelligence ( CI ) & Knowledge Management ( KM ) , has been growing explosively in 20 century 80's and 90's respectively , are recognized as the significant method and tool of competition and management in 21st century , which are the crucial ones of the corporation capabilities too.CI focus on the outside environment , transferring the competitive information into intelligence and strategies in order to assure the sharing and communicating among the companies . Supplying knowledge and skill to the corporation decision-making is the fundamental goal; From another perspective , KM pay more attention on penetration inside of the corporation , change the hidden knowledge to apparently so that the staff can share the hidden ones . The basic goal is to create the knowledge communicating situation inside the firm . the integration of those two will enhance the penetration & utilization of knowledge, improve the flexibility and creativity of the corporation , which is the critical point of company developing strategy in the knowledge-based economy era .This essay readjusting the corporation strategy into two types , according to the verge of company strategy and strategy management , the traditional strategy with outside environment focus & the modern strategy with inside focus . Through analysis , here is to introduce the developing direction and the priority of the corporation strategy in the knowledge-based economy era.With the knowledge economy coming , CI & KM are attracted lots of attention by many pundits and corporations . The chapter two & three give more description of the current study situation about CI& KM basic theories .Based on above two chapters , the fourth unit analyzed the similarity and unique characters of CI & KM , from improving the KM study of CI and realizing the corporation KM into CI management to illuminate the intersection of those two topics. Meanwhile , integrated with the practice of CI study by KunMing Yunda technology Ltd, this essay analyzed the character of actualizing in CI study .Chapter 5 illustrated the integrative relationship between CI & KM , using SWOT tool analyzed the corporation strategy in the knowledge-based economy era combined with Shell International Service Corporation case .This paper sums up the core content in the end. Firstly, KM make the CI higher, faster and stronger; Secondly, KM can not take into account that should reserved because of its ineffectiveness and longtime, at the same time, we can take use of theCI for the point of entrance to make a corporation CI system because of it's alacrity and for-aimed through which we can develop and combine the two; Thirdly, combination between KM and CI is not being in surface but in depth which should replenish in advantage each other and come into being a wholesome through uniting the captivity, experience and resource; Lastly, in terms of Chinese corporation, although we have not answer the most question that configuration and improvement of traditional resource, but following the globalization, KM and CI are the competitive means and management tools of corporation in the future and the successive law book of corporation.
