Creating the space utilities and time utilities of articles, two main functions of the logistics system, is realized through transporting and storing separately. So transportation and storage are two major pillars regarded as logistics system. Delivery relies mainly on " sending ", complemented with many kinds of other value-added services of" mixing " etc.. So delivery, belonging to the category of transportation, is the functional extension of transportation.Though with the improvement of the technology and management of the logistics, the function of time utility of articles, which is created through storage, is weakening in modern logistics system, and the tendency of weakening is strengthened by the rational organization of transportation, especially by making delivery on time. But storage will still continue existing in a period of time to come because of the fluctuation of the customers' needs, the delay of transportation and delivery, and for the scale effect of transportation and delivery etc.. So reducing logistics cost through organizing transportation, delivery and storage reasonably is the main content of modern logistics study.This paper is named as " the Management of Distribution and Delivery in terms of Modern Supply Chain and Logistics ", considering that, firstly, transportation, delivery and storage have close relations of, secondly, we hope to carry on overall exposition of the function of space utility and time utility of the logistics in term of supply chain, because only transportation or only delivery or only storage is not all perfect in creating the space utilities and time utilities of articles.This thesis is written through the combination of summing, deducing, documents studying, on-the-spot investigation, standard studying, and comparative studying.
