In the new century economic globalization and integration of regional economy havealready become two major trends of political economic development in the world. Bilateral ormultilateral cooperation along border areas is being developed in depth. Cities serve as thenodes and key points in the regional cooperation; interactions and integrations between citieshave impacts on possibilities and process of transnational cooperation. Based on the theories and methods in relevant sciences including economic geography,urban geography, regional economic geography, regional economics, international tradecooperation, this thesis puts forward the concept of "geo-city ". By reviewing existingtheories on urban integration, this thesis first defines the intension of transnational integrationof geo-cities,clarifies general models of transnational integration of geo-cities.And thencarrying out a case study on Heihe and Blagoveshchensk, this paper puts forward measureson how to adjust and optimize the integrative relation between the two cities on analyzing theinteractions and integration development of both cities in detail. On basis of practical analysison Heihe and Blagoveshchensk, this thesis summarizes general characters, dynamicmechanism as well as regional effects of transnational integration of geo-cities. The full textcan be divided into three major parts: The first part explains basic conceptions in theory and is the foundation of this subject.First this part puts forward the concept of geo-city, reviews the existing theories of urbanintegration, and then defines the basic intension of transnational integration of geo-cities,laying emphasis on summarizing integrative patterns of geo-cities in the light of existingexperiences at home and abroad. Geo-city is a city that undertakes certain task in the geo-area.The transnational integration of geo-cities is one kind in the type of urban integration, whichmainly refers to the course of the geo-city's interaction and integration with the oppositegeo-city cross the border. General models of transnational integration of geo-cities are: tradeport model; key element- industry's complementary model; integrated comprehensivedevelopment model. The second part carries out a case study on the integrative development of Heihe andBlagoveshchensk and has its significance in social practice through combining theories withpractice. Beginning with integrative development situations of Heihe and Blagoveshchensk,this part analyzes the history and main fields of integrative development of both cities, aswell as regional effects and present characters of Heihe Port. On basis of summarizingrestrictive elements, this part also points out pattern choosing, institutional arrangement,countermeasures and suggestions, nod choosing and operation mechanism, so to adjust andoptimize integrative relation between the two cities. The third part makes a theoretical summarization on transnational integrativedevelopment of geo-cities. This part is the emphasis, difficulty and innovation of the wholethesis including general characters, dynamic mechanism and regional effects of geo-cityintegration. This article holds that general characters of transnational integration of geo-citiesare: the obvious complementary demand of economy; the strong cooperative hopes ofmultilateral; the restrict function of the national boundaries is very obvious; the conjunctionof route construction; driving subregional economical cooperation. Dynamic mechanism oftransnational integration of geo-cities is: necessity of economic globalization and integrationof regional economics; international circumstance that geo- politics has made way for geo-economic. Regional effects mostly behave in political effects; economic effects; societaleffects; zoological effects.
