Study On The Suburbanization Of Residence In Shanghai

The suburbanization of residence is a course during which the population moves from the midtown to the suburb in the urban region. It is a necessary process that transforms from agglomerating-type or the centripetal-type urbanization to the dispersing-type or the centrifugal-type urbanization. The suburbanization of residence has an enormous impact on the development of urban economy and society. The suburbanization of residence began to appear in the foreign large cities in the 1920s. Since the 1980s, this new tendency of urban development has appeared in succession in some large cities of our country. Because of the reform of the urban land utilization system and housing system, and the flexible in the system of traditional household register, the suburbanization of residence began to show an inkling in the 1980s in Shanghai, and this trend was more obvious after the 1990s. On the basis of summarizing the suburbanization of residence in the domestic and international large cities, the thesis emphatically expounded the status quo, development trend and power mechanism of the suburbanization of residence in Shanghai. Meanwhile, from a micro angle of the subject of emigrant behavior, the thesis probed into the general law of the emigrant behavior. On the basis of it, this paper carried on the discussion of the influence of the suburbanization of residence and some countermeasures. Finally, through the case analysis of Qibao town, the phenomenon of the suburbanization of residence in Shanghai was proved.The thesis was divided into seven chapters. Chapter one explained the background of the title selection and introduced the status quo of domestic and international research, the thinking of the research and characteristic. Chapter two is about some relevant theory mainly including theory of migration and theory of the formation of urban inhabit space. Chapter three introduced the status quo of the suburbanization of residence in foreign large cities and that of large cities in our country. On the basis of recommending the current situation of the suburbanization of residence in Shanghai. Chapter four went on expounding the power mechanism of it in detail. Chapter five was about the behavior of the people moving to the suburb; Chapter six analyzed the impact on the urban development of the suburbanization of residence and proposed several corresponding countermeasures or suggestions in order to promote the sound development of the suburbanization of residence in Shanghai. Chapter seven was the conclusion. Besides, the appendix part of the thesis took Qibao town as a case and demonstrated it.
