As the market competition is becoming fiercer, suppliers play a more important role in manufacturing enterprises' supply chain. Strategic supplier's management of manufacturing enterprises based on supply chain theory is an important section of supply chain management. As China's manufacturing industry becomes stronger, it's urgent to solve the problem on how to select, evaluate, and realize the supplier relationship management to strategic suppliers.This paper makes a thorough research on the three aspects of strategic supplier management: the supplier selection part, the supplier relationship management part and the supplier evaluation part. First the purpose of strategic supplier selection is discussed, and then the selection processes and ways of information collection are listed. After a thorough analysis of important influence factors of strategic supplier selection, the paper describes the indexes from eight dimensions: price, quality, supply chain collaboration, credit standing, enterprise environment, delivery ability, operation ability, finance safety. The comprehensive index system of strategic supplier selection is thus formed. This paper then provides a selection model based on fuzzy synchronized evaluation method. When it comes to the supplier relationship management (SRM) part, the conception of SRM is described, and several management tools are mentioned like Early Involving of suppliers (EIS), Reverse Marketing and Information sharing. This paper also points out that performance of strategic suppliers should be evaluated regularly from five respects: quality, price,delivery, service, supply chain collaboration. On the basis of evaluating results, this paper discusses the durative improvement of performance of strategic suppliers. Some ways are mentioned to inspirit them.This paper combines normative research and empirical research. The system is used to select strategic suppliers of a pharmaceutical company in Leshan, Sichuan Province. Some suggestions are also made to improve the strategic supplier management practice of this company.The research achievements: (1) A comprehensive index system of strategic supplier selection is established. (2) Some management tools are introduced to improve supplier relationship management. (3) A comprehensive index system of strategic supplier performance evaluation is set up.
