Urbanization In The New Century: The Study Of Coordinated Development Between Rural And Urban Areas In Zhe Jiang Province

"The coordinated development between rural and urban areas" is an important part of urbanization strategy of Zhe Jiang province in this new century. Based on the available literature, this paper first analyzes and compares the two different concepts of urbanization and coordinated development between rural and urban areas; analyzes the close correlation between these two concepts from the perspective of urbanization, and historical origin and development of rural-urban relationship; and discusses the future tendency of urbanization and rural-urban relationship. Then, the paper mainly discusses the current state of urbanization and rural-urban relationship in Zhe Jiang province. It chooses three important index which measure the state of rural-urban development, uses gray correlation and Lorenz curve theory, and adopts qualitative and quantitative research method to analyze the current state of urbanization and rural-urban development in sixty-nine counties and cities of Zhe Jiang province. After obtaining sufficient and reliable data, the author analyzes the data and concludes with the solutions and suggestions which Zhe Jiang province might adopt in the strategy of coordinated development between rural-urban areas in the new century.
