On Coordinated Development Of Urban-rural Areas

The proposal of coordinated development of urban-rural areas was derived from dualistic structure. Dualistic structure of urban-rural areas has contributed to the development of our national economy and social stability during the special period. With deepening of the reform and opening and market economic system, the abuses of dualistic structure emerged gradually, which led to a series of urban and rural problems such as serious segmentation, more conflicts, greater disparity and lag of economy development, slowed down the modernization of China, handicapped sustainable development and social stability and advancement. As one of the traditional old industrial places, the relation of Wuhan urban-rural areas, affected deeply by Chinese old system, was much worse than that of China. The lopsided development has been puzzling and blocking the healthy development of Wuhan especially in the transition of new and old system during which a series of new problems would come out. Therefore, it is very important for us to have a correct understanding of conditions of Wuhan urban-rural development, analyzing objectively and looking for methods of balancing their development positively to promote the development of economy and society of Wuhan. Based on the formed studying results of related theories, the author discussed the approaches of realizing coordinated development of Wuhan urban-rural areas in accordance with the reality of Wuhan urban-rural development.The dissertation is divided into seven different parts respectively analyzing the coordinated development of Wuhan urban-rural areas. The preface introduced the backgrounds and the necessity of urban-rural coordinated development. Part 1 introduced some concepts related to urban-rural coordinated development, put forward the concept of coordinated development of urban-rural areas and analyzed its characteristics detailedly.
