Employment is a problem that all countries face. Unemployed youth is the main group that every country gives attention to. At present, unemployed youth form a large proportion of the total unemployed population in China. Especially when the traditional employment system was broken, the employment of youth appeared gradually. Because of the transformation of economy system and the reform of state enterprise, the employment of "4050" persons is more concerned. The part of "4050" employment persons reach retiring age after ten years. The problem of youth is standing out. The paper includes five parts:1.Introduction.In this part, the significance of urban unemployed youth was analyzed. The relevant concept, theory and production were given. The problem to be settled in the paper was put. At last, the source of the data and the research method were introduced.2. The situation and characteristics of urban unemployed youth in China.In this part the situation of urban unemployed youth in China was analyzed and compared with other countries by using authority data. The characteristics of urban unemployed youth in China include: First, the urban youth unemployment rate is higher than the total unemployment rate and rising annually. Second, the unemployment youth appear low-aged and high level education. Third, the unemployment youth have concentricity in industry and occupation before they unemployed. Fourth, the unemployment cause of youth appears distinct age range characteristics.3.The analysis of area difference of urban unemployed youth between Shanghai and Qingdao.In this part, the difference of economy and society environment between Shanghai and Qingdao was compared, which offered the background for the research of urban unemployed youth in the two cities. The characteristics and unemployment cause of informant were summarized based on the questionnaire investigation of urban unemployment youth in Shanghai and Qingdao. Although there are big difference of economy and society environment between Shanghai and Qingdao, the characteristics and unemployment cause of the urban unemployment youth investigated are similar.4.The current unemployment cause and influence of urban youth.Combined the situation of unemployed youth in China, the deep unemploymentcause and influence of jrban youth were explored based on the investigation in Shanghai and Qingdao. The main unemployment cause of urban youth includes: First, the contradiction of labor supply-demand and structure. Second, the policy to accelerate youth employment and the mode of fostering talents are laggard. Third, the traditional ideas make employment to congest. Fourth, the unemployed youth want to find a good job, but they lack tough spirits, cannot collect employment information by several ways initiatively, and their mentality are frangible.5. The consideration of the measures to accelerate youth employment.In this part the measures of accelerating youth employment was put forward, which is the way that government, school and enterprise unite to form the service network to settle the problem of youth unemployment.At last, the research production of the paper was summarized and the area about youth employment need to research was put forward.
