With the strengthening awareness of administration on government information and the widely use of information technology as well as the popularization of e-government affairs, public sectors are now attaching much more attention on information publication in managing public crisis. Frequent happening public crisis requires governments to adopt high efficient and more effective methods. The information publication plays a very important role in handling public crisis. Managing government information publication can help to reduce public panic and social disorder. Opening the government information can also receive positive recognition and judgment from the public, gain public trust and improve the efficiency of implementation and finally build a "sun government". Opening the access to government information will further clarify the accountabilities and accelerate government to build a better relation with the public and media. Through clarifying the government responsibilities in dealing with public crisis is essential to establish accountability oriented government and can promote a more complete crisis management system. A well running management mechanism is also a key for government to make scientific and strategic decisions and quick response and improve efficiency of government work. Information publication can also make it possible for the public to know and participate into the administration and policy-making processes and can create benign interaction with the public and finally construct a service-based government.This essay will analyze the problems of information publication facing in public crisis management, and will use a case study to demonstrate the current disadvantages, sort out the inefficiencies and make suggestions and policies to solve problems according to real situation.
